Hot Tubs

The benefits of hydrotherapy have been known for thousands of years. The Romans are famous for their spa baths and other ancient civilisations are known to have indulged themselves in hot water springs. In a hot tub, heat, massage and buoyancy combine together to create the perfect environment for treating any number of ailments, from arthritis to sports injuries.

Our tubs, because of their greater depth, provides extra buoyancy in a free-floating upright position giving much greater user comfort and a more sociable experience.

Face to face conversations are much easier when upright, rather than lying horizontally in a pre-determined moulded position as in a conventional acrylic spa. It is also this extra buoyancy that relieves pressure on joints and muscles creating the relaxed sensation every tub user should experience.

Immersion in hot water raises the body temperature, causing blood vessels to dilate and thus increase circulation. This, in turn, releases endorphins – the body’s own natural painkillers. Blood pressure and sugar levels are also reduced by the heat.

The massaging action in the water is created in two ways. Firstly, by the water jets in the wall and base of the tub, the intensity of which can, if desired, be increased by the controlled introduction of air. Secondly, by the bubbler ring under the bench seat which just fills the whole tub with air bubbles.

An early morning dip can set you up for the challenges of daily life, whilst a long soak before bed will ensure a good night’s sleep, free of aches and pains – at least temporarily. All this in the comfort of your own garden, and at any time of the year. It feels as though nature is being cheated, relaxing outside on a bitterly cold frosty winter’s night, toasty warm with friends or family, sharing a bottle of wine.
